Anonymous asked: If I were to switch from my current major to art, is that allowed? Or is there an intensive portfolio I have to do?
You do have to submit a portfolio to be admitted into the art major, but you can submit your portfolio at any time. They recommend applying 4 weeks in advance of the quarter you wish to be accepted. Read more here.

Do art majors have to take any match classes?
Well, you can use matches in your art classes. But if you mean math classes, that’s a different answer (ho ho ho look at me being all smarmy). The Art major is part of CHASS, which requires its students to take at least one course in math, computer science, or statistics.
So, technically you don’t have to take math; it’s just one of the possible classes you can take in order to fill your breadth requirements. Ch-ch-check out the CHASS breadth course list for a better idea of what I’m talking about by clicking here.
